We believe the best way to learn is by doing!
Welcome to our website -- your home for finding information about our programs, student successes, latest news, and more.
At Sanford Regional Technical Center, our unique hands-on programs are oriented towards uniform national standards that prepare our students for academic success and qualified career placement.
On behalf of the staff at the Sanford Regional Technical Center, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you as a student for the 2014-2015 school year. We are looking forward to seeing you in September. If there have been any changes in your plans or information or if you have any questions, please contact us at (207) 324-2942.
All students will be expected to attend SRTC starting on Tuesday, September 2nd. The exception to this is that students in the Health Occupations program located at Marshwood HS and the Early Childhood and Culinary Arts programs at Noble HS will have their first day on Wednesday, September 3rd. Transportation will be available from the partner schools on the first day, whether or not your high school is in session. You can expect to hear from your school regarding transportation details. Please note that students are expected to attend SRTC whenever we are in session and transportation is provided by the partner school. For example, some schools have late arrival, early dismissal or teacher workshop days in their calendar. In most instances, students will be expected to attend SRTC during the usual times regardless of the schedule at their high school. A list of dates for which SRTC is scheduled to be closed can be found in the SRTC Student Handbook, which students will receive during the first week of school.
In addition to your instructor, there are several staff members to support SRTC students. Mrs. Deanna Farrell is the School Counselor for all of the Sanford High School students attending SRTC and Mr. Roland Legere is the School Counselor for the students from all other partner schools. Home school and post-graduate students will work with the counselor associated with your home community. Mrs. Susan Williams is our Career Planning Coordinator and she will be working with you regarding planning for after high school. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Matt Petermann as our new SRTC Assistant Director. Mr. Petermann will spend half of his time at SRTC and half at Sanford High School. We are very happy to have Mr. Petermann on board.
Our Open House is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10th, from 6:30p.m. - 8:00p.m. All SRTC students and families are encouraged to attend. At 6:30pm, there will be a brief presentation in the Sanford High School cafeteria for all participants. This presentation will include the induction of our National Technical Honor Society students. Immediately afterwards, you will have the opportunity to visit classrooms/labs and meet your instructor to learn more about your program. Please note that students attending our Culinary Arts and Early Childhood Occupations and Education programs at Noble HS or our Health Occupations program at Marshwood HS should plan to attend the Open House for those particular schools. We welcome all families to the Open House at SRTC, but the teachers for those three programs will only be present at their classroom locations on the following dates. The Open House for Marshwood High School (Marshwood Health Occupations program) will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 6:00pm and the Open House for Noble High School(Early Childhood and Culinary Arts programs) will be held on Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00pm.
Once again, welcome! We are delighted to have you with us.
