Applied Learning from the Beginning
The Sanford Regional Technical Center welcomed nearly 500 students on Tuesday. These students represent 8 different partner schools (Kennebunk, Marshwood, Massabesic, Noble, Sanford, Traip Academy, Wells and York) and 18 Career and Technical programs. It is anticipated that lots of learning will take place this year and lead to hundreds of national and state certifications as well as college credits. Speaking of engaged learners, the picture below represents a learning activity this week in our Engineering Applications with Robotics program where students working on their Mechanical Systems Unit were able to compete against one another VEX robotics components. In this program theoretical academic content is blended with hands on applications to maximize student learning.
