The first year of Engineering Applications with Robotics is going to be busy. We will be using the VEX robotics platform to solve complex design challenges while incorporating related academic contents. Units of study are physics based including electricity, kinematics, energy, mechanical systems, fluid power, structural analysis, orthographic view drawing and many other topics as identified by the state of Maine standards for Pre-Engineering programs. Students will gain a basic understanding of what it means to be an engineer.
Starting in January, we will be building a robot for the FIRST Robotic competiton. Then in March we will attend local district competitions attempting to qualify for the regional championships.
Roll up your sleeves because we will be learning by doing.
This course meets Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri from 11:15 am to 1:15 pm.
This course is held at Sanford Regional Technical Center .
